b.Passion Business I - Taste

The last part is here:   Passion Business I - Great Wine Fermentation

It's been a while since I last wrote about wine-making.

Here is my pigeon account:

Most people in the wine-making industry would like to mystify the wine-making process. Once upon a time, I crapped up tens of thousands of dollars to get a gal to concoct the best wine for me. Fuck her! All my money were wasted.

Wine-making is actually very simple. If you study the wine scientifically, you would realise that only about 11%-17% are alcohol, the rest (which is actually the majority) is still very much fruit juice. Therefore, to start the wine-making, one must have the most tasty fruit juice to start.

So the most tasty fruit juice must come from fruits that are sun-ripened, i.e., the best fruits must be naturally sweet while it is still on the tree. Most fruits in the markets are plucked well before they are ripened. Hence, they are not sweet and only marginally sweeter after a few days; the fruits are ripened artificially using funny methods, such as putting in rice sacks and so on. Hence, the first step is to collect sun-ripened fruits.

Once juiced, the must may be very nice and very tastefully sweet. But, this will still make very bad wine. The must must have a certain level of acidity, i.e., sour. That is why lemon juice when nicely sweetened is one of the hot ladies' favourite. At this point, it is important that you let a few gals to taste the must. They would always like a hint of sour-ness.

Water is always an enemy to the wine-making. Use pure spring water if you can. Notice the fucking hawkers will always add syrupy water to buffer their fruit juice and they taste horrible. Hence, never add water to the must if at all possible.

Even if the must tastes sweet, it is still not enough to start the fermentation and not be poisonous. The yeast must take control of the must. Any wrong conditions, the bad bacteria or other organisms will take over and you would be out of business quite soon. Sugar has to be added. Make sure the sugar is of the highest quality and dissolve quickly.

The next step is to add the yeast. There are too many yeast species. Hence, learn to find the right ones by playing god. This is a trade-secret and shall remained so.

The rest of the additives are also trade secrets.

So please don't mystify wine-making. It is actually quite simple to make a decent wine. But, wine with character is a different kettle. This type of wine needs great experimentation.

The other important factor is aging. Any brandless wine when aged correctly will taste like nectar, i.e., (in Greek and Roman mythology) the drink of the gods.

The last part is here:   孫子兵法 (作戰篇第二) (Chapter 2 - 5) (Part 15)

Let's continue ...

Some translation suggested:
Now in order to kill the enemy, our men must be roused to anger; that there may be advantage from defeating the enemy, they must have their rewards.
Therefore in chariot fighting, when ten or more chariots have been taken, those should be rewarded who took the first. Our own flags should be substituted for those of the enemy, and the chariots mingled and used in conjunction with ours. The captured soldiers should be kindly treated and kept.
This is called, using the conquered foe to augment one's own strength.
In war, then, let your great object be victory, not lengthy campaigns.
Thus it may be known that the leader of armies is the arbiter of the people's fate, the man on whom it depends whether the nation shall be in peace or in peril.
Moran:   Truly, killing the enemy is a matter of wrath; on the other hand, the taking of profits from the enemy can be done with the [utilitarian, rational] intention of giving one's soldiers their booty.
So, as for chariot warfare, one should reward those who first take more than ten [enemy] chariots, and give them a new banner [for the captured chariots].
By thus forming an irregular collection of chariots, and by treating the captured soldiers well , one may win against the enemy and supplement one's own strength [in the process].
Therefore in warfare value victory, negatively value taking a long time at getting it.
The general who has a good knowledge of warfare serves as the lord of life and death for the people and is the master of the nation's peace and the perils.

Let's discuss:

:   So killing the enemy derives from one's anger; taking of profits from the enemy derives bounty.
In chariot fight, one should reward those who first take more than ten [enemy] chariots,
:   And give them a new banner [for the captured chariots]. By thus forming an irregular collection of chariots, and by treating the captured soldiers well, one may win against the enemy and supplement one's own strength [in the process].
:   Therefore in warfare value victory positively, value those victories that take a long time at it negatively. The general who has a good knowledge of warfare serves as the lord of life and death for the people and is the decider of the nation's peace and perils.

This topic of discussion is about mercy.

When you have won the battle, it is merciful for you to forgive the atrocities done by the enemy. Instead of killing them all out of anger, treat them instead like bounty goods. Reward it to the conquering army. In business, never try to be a monopoly, it will never work. Give your competitors a chance to cooperate with you, but at your own terms. If you showed that you are not a killer, you will similarly be spared in defeat.

For those who have done well and bravely, reward them amply. Every one in business are profit-driven. If your employees did a good deal, don't count on too much cost, reward them amply so that they will do it again when the next opportunity arise. This reward will bring forth great and selfless warriors.

Mix all soldiers effectively. Treat the new surrendered soldiers as one's own. This is in fact the idea behind reducing racism and classes. By mixing well, there would be little excuse for racial flare-ups. This assimilation will effectively strengthen one's army for real. Hence, one's victory is truly rewarding as it build further strength to one's army. There were so many business failures in mergers and acquisitions in history, mainly due to differences in business culture. Assimilation is key to adding business strength.

Therefore, winning battles is great, but, taking a long time to getting it is not. I am not so sure about this one liner. It simply means a victory achieved quickly is worthy, but a victory achieved over a long time is not. Let's just take this as just a motherhood statement till further analysis.

The general who has a good knowledge of warfare serves as the lord of life and death for the people and is the decider of the nation's peace and perils. In business, any one that has controls over other's life and death is god. Hold the power to reward / punish and reward / punish justly. That way is the only way to control a large sized business.

p.Rest in Peace

The last part is here:   Holocaust II - Rebecca and Gabriel Loh

We hear of many deaths happening almost every day. So we usually steel our hearts and ignore their tug at our heart strings.

Today, I heard of an Indian foreign worker got beheaded by a bus and caused a riot in a small Indian congregation area.

This is a sad day for me. We are mere migrants seeking only for a renewed chance to live or an opportunity to seek our fortunes in a new land, where our own land has dimmed our livelihood.

Instead of using one's bare hands and hard work in exchange for a chance to live, his life was extinguished with not a murmur in his name. Such is the perils of life.

I pray that he will move on to a better path. I also pray that his family will not be too grieved by his demise. May the great tengri bless this family in need. Living in big shitland or small shitland is also no easy shit.

May he rest in peace ...

b.xox - Farm Profits

The last part is here:   xox - The White Snub

This is an important essay.

Let drill through the following texts:
  • Sheep -
    • It takes about 1/4 to 1/2 acre of good grass, 500-900 pounds of hay, and 100 pounds of grain to support one sheep for a year. (A ewe's annual wool yield—around eight or nine pounds—will probably bring in enough cash to pay her grain "bills.") Hence, its profit must come from selling their offsprings.
    • First, I don't think most homesteader shepherds can compete with the "Big Business" sheep-raising operations. Face it, all the fellow with 30,000 to 50,000 head of sheep has to do is clear $1.00 per head to make a very nice annual profit. If "Shepherd Sam" gets the same income rate on his own farmstead-sized herd, he may only make 50 bucks!
  • Alpaca -
    •  You need five acres to support 20 alpacas. The good news: they create a communal dung pile, so sanitation efforts are concentrated.
    • Alpaca profits today lie in breeding (very similar to sheep). Investors who want a quick return buy a pregnant female for $20,000, then sell her baby for $10,000 to other newcomers to the industry. Those building more slowly hold female babies until they, too, are pregnant and worth their initial purchase price. The return on investment ranges from Stewart's 50 percent annually to 10 percent for those unfortunates with scrubby stock.
    • All this breeding is leading toward a fleece market -- but not for 20 to 40 years, Stewart estimates. As secretary of the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association, he points to literature claiming ranchers sell their fleece to artisans for $2 to $4 an ounce. Fiber thickness counts also influence price: get it too coarse and the price starts to slide. Shared shearing times flood this tiny market, driving the price down. Some alpaca farmers work around this by spinning their own fibers, knitting the sweaters and marketing the apparel on the Internet. "Part of it is luck, and the other part is we treat it as a business that takes work. You don't get rich quick on a legitimate business enterprise.
  • Chicken -
    • An animal rights organization is urging to take a firm stand against what it calls “shocking animal cruelty” captured on a graphic video it says was taken at two chicken farms. The hidden-camera video shows hens crowded in battery cages, and chicks being violently smashed by workers and thrown into garbage bags. “They’re so crammed inside those cages they can’t spread their wings, they can’t walk, they can’t turn around, they can’t engage in any of their natural behaviour,” said the whistle blower. “They spend one year of their miserable life in there, basically producing eggs and after that time period, they’re considered spent by the industry because their productivity is declined, and then they’re slaughtered.”
    • Chicken farming requires loads of capital to start. The land size is small, so not an issue. I am not into heavy capitalization. Most heavy capitalization projects always fail on me.
  • Turkey -
    • In factory farming, each turkey receives less than three square feet. After they hatch, turkeys have the ends of their beaks cut off to prevent them from attacking each other in their crowded, unnatural conditions. No anesthesia or painkiller is used. This process, which is known as “debeaking”, has been compared to having your lips or the ends of your fingers cut off, and deprives the birds of one of their most important sources of sensory input. A debeaked bird cannot eat properly or explore her environment fully, nor can she preen herself or her flockmates. She may also experience acute and chronic pain in her beak, head, and face.
    • Debeaking is only one of the mutilations performed on turkeys. They also have their toes cut off; when they are one-day old, a pair of "five-inch surgical shears" is used to clip off "the tip of the toe...including all of the toenail." The snood--the colourful, fleshy appendage that hangs over a turkey's beak--is also cut off, often with no more than a pair of scissors. Like debeaking, all of these tasks are performed without anesthesia, and they appear to result in acute and chronic pain. Dozens of turkey chicks in a rotating debeaking machine. Turkey hatchlings are debeaked without painkillers.
    • Turkeys in modern factory farms have been genetically engineered and pumped with antibiotics; as a result they grow much faster than ever before. For example, in the 1960's, it took a turkey 32 weeks to reach slaughter size, but now it takes only 13-16 weeks.
    • Like chicken farming, the capital requirement is great.
  • Hog -
    • As to how much land for a pig, we currently have about 200 pigs of varying ages on about 10 acres divided into paddocks.
    • Still, he’s worried about their future. In his forty years of raising hogs, Vincent said he’s never seen the swine industry struggle as much as it has the last few years. “I have never experienced a more difficult period [for producing pork] than the period we’re living right now,” he said. It’s tough times for the hog industry. Since five years ago, producers and processors have been seeing red as grain prices soar, hog prices fall.
    • Hog farming requires loads and loads of capital to start. The land need is small. So better don't play this game.
  • Cattle -
    • Where I live in Ireland, many farmers are part-time farmers, with a regular day job, and cattle can be managed in the morning and evening. We estimate one livestock unit (1 cow or 1.5 sheep) per acre. We have good grass. Places with poorer grass need many more acres, which is why Australian farms are so huge. They have very poor soil with poor grass. the size of the average US producer (is) 32 cows. Profits are not always made every year. The land requirement is huge.
    • Running expenses are very high.
  • Horse -
    • It was much like any other horse sale, said an auctioneer; chatty farmers and ranchers packed the bright blue stands to watch about 60 horses be led across a thick sawdust floor to be sold to the highest bidder. Sales in the small auction house are much as they’ve always been. Cowboy hats are still a common sight and a good market is half social event, half business. The only thing that’s changed is the price. These days, the only people making a profit seem to be the line cooks handing out fried foods at the concession stand.
    • “It was a good night,” the auctioneer said after the crowd had left. “But it’s like pulling teeth trying to get someone to bid.” Of the five dozen horses that went up for auction, the auctioneer predicted about 50 were sold for meat. And not for much, even at that. “It was definitely lower. The prices were 20 cents a pound lower than a month ago.” That’s another bad week, and the horse breeders have had plenty.
    • As Europe reels at growing tales of equine meatballs and mislabeled lasagna — on Friday, Britain’s food regulator said testing had found horsemeat in ground beef at Taco Bell outlets — ranchers here are dealing with an entirely different disaster. The two local horsemeat processing plants have all but shut operations – a slowdown that’s expected to last until next week, at least. While distributors across the Atlantic struggle to get to the heart of the tainted meat scandal, the demand for horse flesh has dropped off. Few seem interested in buying the stock of lean, rich horsemeat.
    • An average of between 1 and 3 acres of land per horse. The land need is very high.
  • Deer -
    • We became deer farmers because of our interest and obvious appreciation of the animal. For us, whitetail deer are an enigma and an enjoyment to farm. They are low maintenance, and require less labour and feed than the traditional cattle herd.
    • Pastures can normally carry 6-8 mature does and their offspring for each beef cow/calf pair. They are browsers, not grazers, and their feed consumption decreases in winter months. They are hardy, intelligent and adaptable to our weather. They are highly productive and generally have twins and often triplets, making deer a good investment with an above-average rate of return. This investment can be maintained on less acreage and poor quality land unsuitable for other types of farming.
    • Money can be made in this industry. Good! Finally, a section of agriculture that can be self-sustaining, that may see some profit in a well-run farming operation. Is there money to be made in cattle? You bet, in a well-run farming operation. In any one province which is facing farm crisis, the economic benefits of diversification are a necessary and valuable source of salvation for the family farm.
    • A fallow deer doe-fawn unit requires approximately 0.4 acres of good quality pasture. The land need is not too bad.
    • This is my favourite. Even if it doesn't turn a profit. I have already ear-marked this business-type.
  • Bee -
    • Beekeepers are troubled by the silence. The familiar summertime buzz of bees hovering over the lush cherry blossom trees is noticeably absent. The flowers sit untouched. "This is extremely unusual for this being a bee farm, there are no bees here. This is really sad." This increasingly familiar scene, which is playing out across North America and Europe, worries beekeepers, farmers and scientists who have been tracking the collapse of honeybee colonies over the past decade. Another bad year for honey bees as EU pushes through restrictions to protect bees. In the process, two main camps have emerged, vigorously debating the root causes of the decline. A debate rages over whether the death of many honey bees in recent years is the result of a mite infestation or pesticide use. Some scientists and insecticide companies suggest the bees are being overrun by an infestation of mites, while other observers suggest seeds coated with neonicotinoid insecticide – or "neonics" – are to blame. It's a puzzle with huge implications. Bees and other pollinators are responsible for ensuring most fruit and vegetable crops around the world mature into food. Most sources suggest about one-third of the food we eat is reliant on pollinators, and Bloomberg Business Week estimates bee pollination affects "$200 billion worth of crops annually."
    • The land need is very small, but you need a huge farm land  to prevent neighbours from complaining about the bees.
    • The capital cost is very low, apply this business-type with other large land needs.
  • Log -
    • Growing trees for profit is an ideal part-time or full-time business for anyone who enjoys being outdoors and working with plants. Trees are a valuable and renewable resource that can be grown in a tiny backyard or on a 100 acre tree farm. The most profitable trees for most small growers are those in demand by buyers, are reasonably easy to grow, and bring above-average prices when sold. Unlike traditional trees sold for saw logs and pulp, high-value trees are sold at retail prices to homeowners and landscapers, hobbyists who use the wood or tree shoots to make everything from baskets to guitar backs, or trees planted for their valuable fruits and nuts.
    • Sorry is the rude word. It takes at least 40 years to grow a tree for sale. The capital investment cost is extremely low, but you might not have the life-time to earn it. You just need to buy the land.
    •  You may plant up to 1,800-2,500 per 100 acres.
    • This is a good generations game. Do check out the government-of-the-day's interest. They might cut you off on the farm land ownership. So do exercise great caution.
  • Fruit/Nut -
    • A few years ago, Bill Lancaster bought six acres of sagebrush and rocks in eastern Washington state with the idea of creating a natural grove of nut trees. “They told me I was crazy to try to grow nut trees here,” he said. But now his neighbours are buying nut trees from him! His 4 acre grove of trees resembles a natural forest. Walnuts and Chinese Chestnuts, planted on a 60 foot spacing, form the upper story of the grove. Filberts, which grow well in partial shade, fill in the 20 foot high lower story. There are also peach, plum and pear trees planted in the sunny corners and edges of the grove. Grape vines are trellised around the edge of the grove.Bees from his own hives do the pollinating, and peafowl patrol for insects in the grove. The grove is just reaching it’s prime, producing 8,000 pounds of nuts each year. But the nut and fruit tree grove is only part of Bill’s cash crop income. On the remaining 2 acres, he grows tree seedlings and grafted trees in a backyard nursery, his most profitable plants. His trees are such high quality, they are sold out for two years in advance. Bill says this grove could produce for another 50 years, with very little further work.
    • This is a good consideration. This is a low cost and low land need business-type.
  • Crop - Crops require huge machinery and huge land need. So don't talk about turning in a profit, it will bankrupt you first through capital purchases. Unless you aim for specialist crops like some of the passion businesses discussed so far.
After a simple analysis of the business-types in farm land, notice everything also cannot do. This is the beauty of business-type exploration. Everything don't sound right. Everything don't sound possible. This is the exact dilemma that a person would face. Everywhere is road block, everywhere is impossible and non-profitable. This is exactly what the people already in the business-type would like you to believe that there is no way into their business-type. So be patient, 廟算 is your only chance to succeed.

Don't despair. Build your own reality. If you must cry, by all means be my guest. I cry loads too. There is no embarrassment. Just watch silly shows like 非诚勿扰 would immediately wake your fucking ideas up. There is no love without the dollar sign. Sad? I know. There is no true love, at least for me. The gals in 非诚勿扰 even suggested their bullshit of catching a 柔情铁汉 to depict a man who is very strong in making money but easy on the money for the damsel-in-distress. The gals simply thought that the 柔情铁汉 would fall for the dumb broads like them. LOL. I simply must watch the eventual "happy endings" of these gals after they have gotten hitched.

If you that good, the whites would be clamouring to work for you. The sound of pigeon English amongst the pure English accent is gold.

b.Passion Business V - Land Preparation

The last part is here:   Passion Business V - Alpaca

A friend has sounded her support for the business-type. She felt that alpaca is a rare find and should be encouraged. She also mentioned that over time, the fleece market would be established. One thing she didn't suggest is the alpaca leather market. She is not a killer so maybe she missed this point. This is going to be very exciting for me too.

Next year, I would alienate land to accommodate this business-type. As my partner-in-crime had said this year is coming to an end and we probably have to look at next year to plan more things.

Below are some good stuff:

Thinking of raising alpacas? Not sure what it is going to cost, and the amount of work involved? Have you considered a commercial farm?

We have one of the largest commercial alpaca farms in town. (possibly the only?) With our extremely high breeding standards, we have grown an incredible source for everything alpaca.

What is a commercial alpaca farm? Basically all this means is we don't bother registering. Just like the yorkie puppy I bought a while back... I didn't care if he had a paper I'd probably misplace it anyway's. I just wanted a puppy for my daughter. By saving thousands on not registering we are able to produce fiber and sell for less. Our prices for our products as well as for our alpacas are much lower due to our business and lack of expenses we incur. Commercial alpaca farming is different from the alpaca farms who breed registered stock for the purpose of selling their registered alpacas at a premium price.

The main difference is that we don't register the alpacas. It was costing us 3-4 thousand per year just to keep up with the registration of the offspring each year... with no return! The papers sat in a filing cabinet and collected dust. Years ago we got into a really bad deal with a farm in out-country. They were going to sell our animals for us and as they sold they would send the money and we would transfer the papers to the new owners. At that time there was no one interested in un-papered animals so holding the papers until payment was made was something lots of farms felt comfortable with. Unfortunately this particular farm was selling them and promising that the papers "were in the mail" meanwhile we were never notified that the sale had happened so both of us were left in the dark. The registry didn't do anything to help us with the enormous ordeal we were in and that really turned us off to the registry. There was NO point what so ever to having papers! So we haven't registered for years and I couldn't be happier.. I HATED doing the paperwork.. and Dad hated paying the bills :-) Of course we aren't able to sell breeding registered stock for premium dollars any longer.. which didn't make a difference cause we hadn't sold an alpaca for premium dollars in over 2 years anyway's. In fact we made more money selling cheap without papers to those who were interested in the animal for the fiber.

Feeding We started off over a decade ago feeding what we were told to feed.. corn, oats, pellets and hay. After a few years of that we switched over to just pellets and then eventually stopped that as well. Grass and Hay is ALL they need to eat.. we haven't supplemented with anything else for over 5 years and we have a very happy healthy heard. It is a waste of money and unnatural to feed anything but hay or grass. We have saved thousands and reduced chore time.. and again our alpacas are very healthy!

Injections There are some farms that give MONTHLY injections! We have proven that this is absolutely unnecessary, and probably not even good for them! We give 8-way, vitamins and ivomec (for worms and mites) in the Fall after a few hard frosts. Some of the cria need extra shots of ivomec throughout the Winter because they seem to be easily targeted by mites. In some areas selenium may be needed.

Meat Alpaca meat is one of the healthiest meats available. It is very low in cholesterol and calories and high in protein. It is comparable to a very lean beef. As alpacas grow older their fiber becomes course and short. The animals that are no longer viable for the production of high quality fleece are used to provide a very healthy, grass fed, organic meat. (But only if they are fed grass and not given monthly injections!) This is a very sad part of any viable farm whether it be chickens, pigs, cows ... or alpacas. Many alpaca breeders frown upon eating alpaca which is something that we don't understand at all.

Breeding When choosing our herdsires the main thing we consider is the fiber quality. Not who his great-gand-sire is.. or if he has one paper or dual registration.. NONE of that matters to us as a commercial farm. Obviously there are other important factors as well.. If they have undesirable hereditary traits like buck teeth, fast growing toe nails or a crooked tail or even a bad personality. Some males can be aggressive and that is something we won't breed into our herd no matter how fabulous his fiber is. When we started out we hand bred like most alpaca breeders still do now... we have found a MUCH better way.. the natural way! First I'll explain to you what "hand-breeding" means.. You gather up the herd and separate the 1 female and the 1 male and put them in a small pen. Then you let them do their thing.. which usually takes about 15 minutes. Then you separate them and after 10 days or so you do it again to check if she caught. If the dam is open still she will lay down and allow the male to breed her. If she is bred she will spit, kick and raise a huge fuss... sometimes they will raise a fuss just because they want to.. and this is why its so tricky. You should test them a couple times to be sure, otherwise you will go an entire season before trying again. This is a lot of work when you have as many animals as we do and would keep us really busy the entire breeding season.

Our way.. pasture breeding. We decide on a herdsire and put him in with the herd of females.. and let them be! They know better than we do when they are ready and will do their thing when they want. Many times the breeding's happen in the middle of the night. As far as line breeding goes, we have had this happen many times.. some on purpose to try (my dad grew up raising cattle and they line breed a lot) and some on accident (we had one year where our fences were in need of some major maintenance!) .. and the result.. was... wait for it!.. an ALPACA!! Lol No 6 legged, two headed creatures, just normal alpacas. The one thing we noticed though is if there is for instance our old herdsire Cuzco would sometimes throw pintos (when the blanket fiber is one color- usually dark brown and the rest of the animal is white) and when we line bred his line we would end up with more of those.. or Valentino was a smaller built animal and all his line-bred offspring were smaller than average. We are at the point now that we have so many different bloodlines and a crew of amazing herdsires that we don't have to worry about line breeding. However if you don't have the luxury of choosing a new male every year then the best thing is to have two separate pastures (or more) and split up the girls according to who you want bred to who and then have two males.. one in each pasture. Alpacas are pregnant for almost an entire year. 11 - 11.5 months. We find when pasture breeding they basically have a baby almost exactly a year apart. So they usually have their baby, and within 10 days to 2 weeks they are ready to be bred again, so the following year they would have their baby around the same time the last baby was born. I actually find it more accurate now to predict when they are going to deliver than when we used to hand breed and had an actual bred date and due date. Our birth rate is really high.. usually between 87-98 % having babies each year. We used to have babies from Mid May all the way to September, but we shortened up the breeding period and now we put the herdsires in May 15 and they are taken out July 15th. Oh and one more thing to mention.. our herdsire this year bred 65 females in 2.5 months! We find that 10 days before the end of the breeding period if we switch him out and put a new male in we will find a few go down for him. I guess they are just like people some men just won't go for some girls no matter what!

Vet Bills The last time we spoke with a vet about anything is when our beloved Zen got ill and passed away :-( Other than that we haven't had a vet bill in years! We have administered penicillin on our own when needed. If someone is showing any signs of infection we give them a shot and watch for a few days.. if they need another shot we give it to them and most of the time that's all it takes. Alpacas are very hardy animals and very rarely get sick. If they are fed properly and have access to fresh water at all times, get sufficient exercise and aren't under any undue stress there isn't a whole lot to worry about.

Day to Day Chores Alpacas are the EASIEST livestock in the world to care for... well I guess I shouldn't speak for every alpaca breeder, because if you hand breed, register, give monthly shots and weigh each animal each day it would be incredibly time consuming. But the way we do it.. it is pretty easy. In the summer months, they graze, drink water, play around and sleep. Well.. I guess that's not all they do.. they come into the yard to mow our grass each night and will leave a bucket of "fertilizer" for my dad to pick up! LOL Their manure makes AWESOME fertilizer, my Opa swore that was why his garden was always so good! So other than checking them a couple times a day we don't have "chores" in the summer time, if we wanted to take off for a week we totally could. In the Fall and Winter we set up a big square bale of hay in the feeder and that lasts about a week.

The Spring is the funnest, most exciting time, with all the new babies arriving and shearing. Honestly.. Kayla's chickens, bunnies, cat and dog are more work than the 300 alpacas! Marketing on the other hand takes lots of time. making products, photographing, listing on facebook, and website... but its all work I really enjoy. This is my dream job and wouldn't give it up for anything!

There are approximately 3.5 million Alpacas in the world today. The largest population of these animals - 3 million - lives in Peru at 10,000 feet above sea level. With regards to the other Andean countries, reports indicate that Bolivia has approximately 500,000 Alpacas while Chile and Argentina have a bit over 50,000 Alpacas between them.

The Alpacas tolerate harsh climatic conditions that include temperature variations of more than forty degrees in a single day. Alpacas have a high resistance and can go without food or water for days.

So almost all alpacas are stucked in Peru and south America. It would be great opportunity for other countries to have a go at these nice and exotic animals. If all farm things are prepared, I hope to buy these animals at $50 a pop. Transportation may cost more. LOL. I might consider leather too. Forget about pure breeding. A pure waste of time.

The last part is here:   Song - Morning has Broken

The song is here:   問世間+留住今日情(無線電視劇《神鵰俠侶》插曲1983年)-張德蘭
問世間
神雕俠侶插曲 張德蘭 作詞:元好問 作曲:顧嘉煇

問世間,情是何物? 直教生死相許.
天南地北, 雙飛客, 老翅幾回寒暑.
歡樂趣, 離別苦, 就中更有痴兒女.
君應有語, 渺萬里層雲, 千山暮雪, 隻影向誰去.

Totally listening to her songs. So fantastic.

Now rewatching 《神鵰俠侶》 - 1983 serial.

The only way to keep myself sane in this onslaught of yellow locusts invasion of the white land. Totally viscous. Totally brutal. Totally damaging. Totally not home-coming.

The only joke I enjoyed is that every yellowskin I met on the street I saw no smile. Life must have been hard for them too. LOL.

That's the price to pay for not huddling together. But, what do they know? I am only just another clown yellowskin trying to make it in white land. Nothing special. Nothing spectacular. I just have to make my way through the white waters. I have nothing to give them. I don't even patronize their stores.

I guess yellowskins only know best how to bully their own kind.

Please enjoy the song ...

p.Song - Morning has Broken

The last part is here:   Trust - Vincent van Gogh

The song is here:   Cat Stevens - Morning Has Broken - [Live 1976]

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word
Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dew fall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass
Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

I am sorry. I realized the more I collect. The lonelier I become. The greater the equation, more whites are becoming friends to me, but to what end?

Of all the things I have collected, I lack the most important one thing - warmth.

The winter chills are raging just outside the window, you can't even spend 10 seconds outdoor. The -35degC will freeze your ass off. Come to think of it, life is so fragile. Just step off the house, in less than 5 minutes, I would have absolutely no more feeling.

Every time, a major event hits me. This song will come to my mind. For each fucking time, I was always so happy and yet at the same time, so apprehensive for the world ahead. Without someone beside me to wild my time off, I will always be apprehensive I guess.

News really travel fast and far, now every yellowskin and white congratulated me on my new found rank. Without a close kin, such victory is so hollow.

Let's hope that when I am finally home, there are still kins left.

Let's enjoy the song ...

p.雪松

The last part is here:   Porcupines

My blood relation just gave me a good fucking session. What he wanted is not a cypress tree, but the majestic cedar, 雪松。Fuck! He's very demanding. Now I better don't screw it up again.

This tree will easily eat me 2.5 acres of land. Nothing can come within 55 m radius.
Sigh ... I really need to do proper planning to accommodate such a big tree.

Or should I just give him this:
LOL ...

b.Passion Business VI - Rent-to-Own

The last part is here:   Passion Business V - Alpaca

This business-type is not to be your first business-type. You can't play this game without having cash. Lots of cash. Its investment returns vis-a-vis huge capital upfront, is also not as fast as others. employ this business-type when you have spare cash over your other passion business-types.

In other places where property prices are sky-high, this business-type totally cannot be employed.

Buying a goner property
When you observed the property market, noticed that those properties that are fairly good looking and well-maintained are normally easily bought up by the buyers and banks love to finance such properties. The reason simply being buyers are poor bastards. They got no cash. They only have the initial deposit to down-pay. The rest they hoped like hell that the bank will pay the rest. Hopefully, with a 30-year burden, they will live happily ever after.

Hence, properties that are structurally good but in poor state of repair would take years to complete the sale with prices dropping every 3 months. For this type of property, no banks would finance and thus, no buyers can buy. Further in the white land (unlike yellow or shit lands), the contractors are poor bastards, they can only render services but not cash investments.

When viewing such goner properties, watch for structural damage. If exist, don't buy. If it is only a coat of paint and redo all furnishings, then consider buying it. Bring a contractor along to guess-timate the ultimate total cost.

Give a 50% knock-down, don't be embarrass, your seller realtor already have been marketing for a long long time. She needs to close too for food. She will pressurize the seller to close. Just behave like a poor yellowskin bastard.

If the seller is hard, just move on. There are plenty to choose from.

Once you get it, smile to your contractor.

Renovation
Get your contractor to start to do basic repairs. Give it a good paint. Change all appliances to new ones. Change all toilet bowls, bathtubs, kitchen sinks. Change any old curtains and so on. The total renovation should not cost more than 50% of the purchase price.

Put up a Signage
Put up a RENT-TO-OWN signage and welcome realtors to contact you too. Once the renter come in, get him to sign a rent-to-own contract.

Investment Returns
It should take about 2 years to fully recover the full investment cost. Mean time, you hope like hell, the renter will be late in payment or move out, you can restart the business. With this investment return, you can restart another rent-to-own property every 2 years.

Even if the property is not rented out, you only incur property tax which is super reasonable. No other expenses. You can choose to shut down all services until reconnected.

General Cash-flow Model
Initial Property Purchase:   $10,000   (for example)
Renovation Cost:   $5,000
Total Property:   $15,000

Gross rent-to-own:   $600 (+$200 rent-to-own premium) per month (yearly: $9,600 plus any property taxes to be borne by the renter)
Net Rent-to-own:   $560 per month (yearly: $6,720, deducted to pay for income tax)
Recovery Period:   2.23 years   (=$15,000/$6,720)

Enjoy ...

Detroit eligible for Chapter 9 bankruptcy, judge rules

Billions in debt led to largest public bankruptcy in U.S. history
The Associated Press Posted: Dec 03, 2013 7:47 AM ET Last Updated: Dec 03, 2013 3:05 PM ET

Before the July bankruptcy filing, nearly 40 cents of every dollar collected by Detroit was used to pay debt, a figure that could rise to 65 cents without relief through bankruptcy, according to the city.

Detroit is eligible to shed billions in debt in the largest public bankruptcy in U.S. history, a judge said today in a long-awaited decision that now shifts the case toward how the city will accomplish that task.

Judge Steven Rhodes turned down objections from unions, pension funds and retirees, which, like other creditors, could lose under any plan to solve $18 billion (all figures US) in long-term liabilities.

But that plan isn't on the judge's desk yet. The issue for Rhodes, who presided over a nine-day trial, was whether Detroit met specific conditions under federal law to stay in bankruptcy court and turn its finances around after years of mismanagement, chronic population loss and collapse of the middle class.

The city has argued that it needs bankruptcy protection for the sake of beleaguered residents suffering from poor services such as slow to nonexistent police response, darkened streetlights and erratic garbage pickup -- a concern mentioned by the judge during the trial.

Before the July filing, nearly 40 cents of every dollar collected by Detroit was used to pay debt, a figure that could rise to 65 cents without relief through bankruptcy, according to the city.

"The status quo is unacceptable," emergency manager Kevyn Orr testified.

Announcing his decision, Rhodes said Detroit has a proud history.

"The city of Detroit was once a hard-working, diverse, vital city, the home of the automobile industry, proud of its nickname the Motor City," he said.

But he then recited a laundry list of Detroit's warts: double-digit unemployment, "catastrophic" debt deals, thousands of vacant homes, dilapidated public safety vehicles and waves of population loss.

Detroit no longer has the resources to provide critical services, the judge said, adding: "The city needs help."

Pensions can be cut

Rhodes' decision is a critical milestone. He said pensions, like any contract, can be cut, adding that a provision in the Michigan Constitution protecting public pensions isn't a bulletproof shield in a bankruptcy.

The city says pension funds are short by $3.5 billion. Anxious retirees drawing less than $20,000 a year have appeared in court and put an anguished face on the case. Despite his finding, Rhodes cautioned everyone that he won't automatically approve pension cuts that could be part of Detroit's eventual plan to get out of bankruptcy.

There are other wrinkles. Art possibly worth billions at the Detroit Institute of Arts could be part of a solution for creditors, as well as the sale of a water department that serves much of southeastern Michigan. Orr offered just pennies on every dollar owed during meetings with creditors before bankruptcy.

Behind closed doors, mediators, led by another judge, have been meeting with Orr's team and creditors for weeks to explore possible settlements.

Much of the trial, which ended Nov. 8, focused on whether Orr's team had "good-faith" negotiations with creditors before the filing, a key step for a local government to be eligible for Chapter 9. Orr said four weeks were plenty, but unions and pension funds said there never were serious across-the-table talks.

"The governor took more time to interview the consultants to help the city with restructuring than they took to negotiate the restructuring itself. That's absurd," attorney Sharon Levine, representing AFSCME, said at trial.

An appeal of Rhodes' decision is a certainty. Opponents want to go directly to a federal appeals court in Cincinnati, bypassing the usual procedure of having a U.S. District Court judge hear the case.

Orr, a bankruptcy expert, was appointed in March under a Michigan law that allows a governor to send a manager to distressed cities, townships or school districts. A manager has extraordinary powers to reshape local finances without interference from elected officials. But by July, Orr and Gov. Rick Snyder decided bankruptcy was Detroit's best option.

Detroit, a manufacturing hub that offered good-paying, blue-collar jobs, peaked at 1.8 million residents in 1950 but has lost more than a million since then. Tax revenue in a city that is larger in square miles than Manhattan, Boston and San Francisco combined can't reliably cover pensions, retiree health insurance and buckets of debt sold to keep the budget afloat.

Donations fund police, EMS

Donors have written checks for new police cars and ambulances. A new agency has been created to revive tens of thousands of streetlights that are dim or simply broken after years of vandalism and mismanagement.

While downtown and Midtown are experiencing a rebirth, even apartments with few vacancies, many traditional neighbourhoods are scarred with blight and burned-out bungalows.

Besides financial challenges, Detroit has an unflattering reputation as a dangerous place. In early November, five people were killed in two unrelated shootings just a few days apart. Police Chief James Craig, who arrived last summer, said he was almost carjacked in an unmarked car.

The case occurs at a time of a historic political transition. Former hospital executive Mike Duggan takes over as mayor in January, the third mayor since Kwame Kilpatrick quit in a scandal in 2008 and the first white mayor in largely black Detroit since the 1970s.

Orr, the emergency manager, is in charge at least through next fall, although he's expected to give Duggan more of a role at city hall than the current mayor, Dave Bing, who has little influence in daily operations.

My Comment:
The depression is seriously biting the largest powerhouse of the world. With the consumption at its lowest, the rest of the world will find it hard to cope. With no demand from the big boys, the smaller boys are going to die.

Once upon a time, a little fucken island thought out a very cle-wer plan. The fuckens thought that by having large corporations to set-up factories on that little island. They could supply large labour and at the same time, steal from these corporations technological know-how. Years gone by, hundreds of corporations moved out after the tax incentives ended, leaving only an empty shell, with zero technologies. The fuckens ended up having their cocks jammed in their mouths. How are they going to feed the populace since these assholes are not migrant workers but shitizens, i.e., they got no place to go after getting old?

You might think that I am having 20-20 vision after the event It is not true. I never allow my skill and knowledge to be used by these fuckens. Since I had achieved nothing, I can't prove my ability, but neither can anyone disprove my ability. So let's keep it that way. I am merely talking cock for those who don't know me.

This depression is going to last for a long while. Even with money printing, it's not going to help. We all going to have 16 years of fun. Instead of complaining money not enough, why not use that little money and put it to good use.

Hint:   Have you ever bought a nice house with large freehold land with only a four-figured sum today?

If you can't even solve the riddle given above, please don't say you have ever arrived. Seriously you are not even a good yellowskin to start off with. A good yellowskin is hard-working, humble, resourceful and cunning.

p.Strategy - Racism Continues

The last part is here:   Strategy - How to survive in White Land

Based on my encounters with enough of both white and blue collar whites, I came to this conclusion:

The white collars have limited racism. They are paid at least $35-$50 per hour for their lowest rankers. Their house is cheap. Their food is cheap. Their car is cheap. So they have more than enough to get by. Further they don't usually travel. They will just hurdle together in their houses singing happy halloweens. They are a very happy lot. So when they see lesser humans like me, the yellowskin. They are naturally curious about their little pet. They will toy with it. Resist not. Therein lies your best take. You can ask for the sky and they will happily agree. Tell them a soap opera. They will bait, hook, sinker and line. They see no reason to play the race card. They felt in every sense of the word - superior. They would be kind. However, one caveat:   If you do receive kindness, repay it in time. Never let karma plays your backside.

The blue collars on the other hand is extremely racist. Visit a big store. They would ignore you even though you are a big paying customer. Eat in a restaurant, they would serve you last and would not come for your refill, let alone ask. When you asked complicated questions, they would give you replies like you couldn't have afforded it. Why don't you ask the professionals instead? They don't have such professional services. Yet, their signages screamed to provide such professional services for free or low fees. If you don't have ten grands, don't try to get help, they are expensive. At every turn or corner, they would try to pretend that they are helpful, smiley, but deep down they are racist.

I don't blamed them. What can life afford them? They are only paid $6-$10 per hour. With this pay, they can barely rent a house (double income some more), fuck only blur chicks, screaming kids and little food on the table. Their frustration is why don't employers give them a good pay and some recognition for their hard work. Hard work possibly. Quality work no way. So every day, they have to mill their noses to the ground.

Now this blur-fucked yellowskin comes along, this is gold. He will let go every frustration-of-the-day on this poor yellowskin. Two mis-fits of the society hurdled together for the good go at this racism game. How charming!

It is best to ignore these overtures and concentrate on the way ahead. You can't try to win over these losers. Even old immigrants exhibit this lousy behaviour. Ignore them all. These fuckers can never advance your station in life. Stay away from them. If you can DIY, do it. It is never too late to learn a menial skill. Take it as an exercise. Else, get them to do it after checking with 10 thousand vendors. You need to do your home work. Haste is bad for your money prowess. Btw, internet is your life saviour.

Btw, don't bother to improve your language with the locals. You can never blend in. Just speak your pigeon English, i.e., just be yourself, i.e., gay as a lark. With money, these neighbours will laugh at your slightest jokes. I have already made my neighbour shovels the snow off my pavement whenever I am away. Of course for a small fee. Now my neighbours are all smile with me.

Use money to buy tough love, you bet!

b.Passion Business V - Alpaca

The last part is here:   Passion business IV - Black Périgord Truffles (as a)

I have decided to play in this business-type.

Main driver:   Farm lands are not easy to own and hold. The government-of-the-day happy happy will cut a road, happy happy will run power lines, happy happy will buy back, happy happy change the land of neigbouring to rubbish, thus forcing you to quit prematurely. They want to see you working on your land. Sit idle, they will rob you blind. Government-of-the-day hates land squatters or land banking.

Why Alpaca?    For every cow, you can keep 10 alpacas. For every sheep, you can keep 2 alpacas. Alpacas are hardy and don't die easily. Alpacas are low on food quality. For every acre, you can keep up to 10. Alpacas can live up to 20 years and achieve maturity at age 2 years onwards.

Negatives:    The fleece produced by alpacas are superior products but poorly priced. The farmers are currently not into fleece production but nonsensical pure bred competitions. Although this is a negative, one can turn it around by going into pure fleece. But, the current fleece price is very poor, after sale (about 6-8 lbs), the money can only feed the animal for the year. There is no profit. The only profit is in their off-springs.

Positives:   The farm needs not be too well-kept. Fence needs not be too high, except against predators. The status of the farm is very well-protected. The farm will look extremely vibrant.

Investment Returns:   Assuming both the male and female are sold at the same price, the reason being that some bucks are good priced, which sometimes the female also fetch good price. On the whole, female being seen as reproductive usually fetch better prices. But, for analysis, let's leave it as equal. Simple and easy to understand. It is not impossible.

Let's start with 3x3-years-old females and 2x3-years-old males (all productive); all males not buck quality would be sold as soon as possible; all females should be sold by the 8th year, else the price and fleece are crapped; the ratio of males and females are 1:1 equal chance for each sex; always choose one or two young strong bucks to sex all females:

Year 0:   F3, F3, F3, M3, M3 (e.g., F2 - first letter is sex, second letter is age, i.e., female, 2-years-old)
Year 1:   F4, m1, F4, f1, F4, m1, M4, M4
Year 2:   F5, f1, M2, F5, m1, F2, F5, f1, M2, M5, M5
Year 3:   F6, m1, F2, M3, F6, f1, M2, F3, F6, m1, F2, M3, M6, M6
Year 4:   F7, f1, M2, F3, M4, F7, m1, M3, F4, f1, F7, m1, M2, F3, M4, M7, M7
Year 5:   F8, f1, F2, M3, F4, m1, M5, F8, f1, M2, M4, F5, m1, F2, F8, f1, M2, M3, F4, m1, M5, M8, M8
Year 6:   F9, f1, F2, F3, M4, F5, m1, M2, M6, F9, f1, F2, M3, M5, F6, m1, M2, F3, F9, f1, F2, M3, M4, F5, m1, M2, M6, M9, M9

From 5 animals to 29 in 6 years, i.e., IRR of 34%. Not too bad for a return. If in time, the fleece is saleable, then the return is even more fun.

Year 7:   F10, f1, F2, F3, F4, m1, M5, F6, f1, M2, M3, M7, F10, m1, F2, F3, M4, M6, F7, f1, M2, M3, F4, m1, F10, f1, F2, F3, M4, M5, F6, m1, M2, M3, M7, M10, M10
Year 8:   F11, f1, F2, F3, F4, m1, F5, f1, M2, M6, F7, m1, F2, M3, M4, M8, F11, f1, M2, F3, F4, m1, M5, M7, F8, f1, F2, M3, M4, F5, m1, M2, F11, f1, F2, F3, M5, M6, F7, m1, M3, M4, M8, M11, M11
Year 9:   F12, f1, F2, F3, F4, m1, F5, f1, M2, F6, m1, F2, M3, M7, F8, f1, M2, F3, M4, M5, M8, F12, m1, F2, M3, F4, f1, F5, m1, M2, M6, M8, F9, f1, F2, F3, M4, M5, F6, m1, M2, M3, F12, f1, F2, F3, F4, m1, M6, M7, F8, f1, M2, M4, M5, M9, M12, M12
Year 10:   F13, m1, F2, F3, F4, f1, F5, m1, M2, F6, f1, F2, M3, F7, m1, M2, F3, M4, M8, F9, f1, F2, M3, F4, m1, M5, M6, M9, F13, f1, M2, F3, M4, F5, m1, F2, F6, f1, M2, M3, M7, M9, F10, m1, F2, F3, F4, f1, M5, M6, F7, m1, M2, M3, M4, F13, f1, F2, F3, F4, m1, M2, M7, M8, F9, f1, F2, M3, M5, M6, M10, M13, M13

From 5 animals to 73 in 10 years, i.e., IRR of 31%. Quite consistent or at least 30%.

As for the feed, it is almost free as the land area is plenty.

After a while, the herd is almost free. Every year, the off-springs would be enough to feed you. There is no IRR to talk about. It is just free money like an orchard.

The last part is here:   孫子兵法 (作戰篇第二) (Chapter 2 - 4) (Part 14)

Let's continue ...

Some translation suggested:
Hence a wise general makes a point of foraging on the enemy. One cartload of the enemy's provisions is equivalent to twenty of one's own, and likewise a single picul of his provender is equivalent to twenty from one's own store.
Moran:   Therefore wise generals will put burdens for foodstuffs on the enemy. Eating one unit of the enemy's food will save the expense of twenty units of one's own food. Feeding one unit of hay or fodder of the enemy's will save the expenditure of twenty units of one's own forage.

Let's discuss:

:   Therefore wise generals will put burdens for foodstuffs on the enemy.
Eating one unit of the enemy's food will save the expense of twenty units of one's own food.
:   Feeding one unit of hay or fodder of the enemy's will save the expenditure of twenty units of one's own forage.

This is really good. If you eat off your enemy, you are definitely god-status.

To be able to execute this in business world is pure gold. How to execute one case is not so easy. I am learned.

But, there are some truth in this statement. A while ago, I started attacking a major business of 30 product line. I chose the best and the most sale-able. I concentrated on its quality and nothing else. Slowly the customers moved over to my single product. Suddenly, the business of 30-product started to stop production of the product in contention and a few others (among the 30-products, there are indeed very weak ones, those that needs the strong lead-horse to support; once support's gone, they have to go as well.). Now I have at least a 50-product range. He has dwindled to less than 10. Naturally the leadership role reversed. A 20-fold decrease due to a single attack.

But, I am not sure if this is the correct case study. I am still learning. But, I do feel this is a very good point:   故智將務食于敵。 But do be careful about the possible strong counter-attacks or rebuttals. Stay on the best quality.

p.I am Promoted

The last part is here:   Porcupines

The grand mayor chieftain finally agreed to sire the hot spring to my name, but only for 5 years. He said that if everything goes well, I will be promoted to second junior member in the ring of power in a year's time. Wtf? No money, no announcement, why do I need such name?

He also insisted that for every sale that comes out of the hot spring, he will get 10%. Aha! Luckily I was used to Mr 10% and Mr 20% back where I came from. So I happily agreed. You scratch my back, I scratch yours.

Although this is a happy event, my concern has always been what will happen to my back room. Now everyone will be baying for my blood. Sharing this spoil is going to be a tough event. Suddenly, every one played bola, including many sleepy heads. (._x)

Now, I have to calculate each share entitlement. The sharing must be fair.

Need to plant more cypress trees.

The last part is here:   孫子兵法 (作戰篇第二) (Chapter 2 - 3) (Part 13)

Let's continue ...

Some translation suggested:
Poverty of the State exchequer causes an army to be maintained by contributions from a distance. Contributing to maintain an army at a distance causes the people to be impoverished.
On the other hand, the proximity of an army causes prices to go up; and high prices cause the people's substance to be drained away.
When their substance is drained away, the peasantry will be afflicted by heavy exactions.
With this loss of substance and exhaustion of strength, the homes of the people will be stripped bare, and three-tenths of their income will be dissipated; while government expenses for broken chariots, worn-out horses, breast-plates and helmets, bows and arrows, spears and shields, protective mantles, draught-oxen and heavy wagons, will amount to four-tenths of its total revenue.
Moran:   When a nation's resources are depleted by its troops, that is because of long supply lines. When there are long supply lines, the ordinary people become impoverished.
When troops are stationed nearby, then commodity prices rise.
When commodity prices rise, the ordinary people are driven out of the market.
When the resources of the ordinary people are exhausted [by paying the high prices, taxes, etc.], that will create a furor over impositions.
When one's energies are tied up and one's wealth is exhausted within one's nuclear region, then the center of one's own domain becomes a void.
The common people will come up short on seventy percent of their ordinary living expenses.
As for the expenses of the establishment families, there are wrecked vehicles, infirm horses, [damaged or destroyed] armor, helmets, arrows, crossbows, lances, bucklers, and paveses, not to mention oxen and heavy freight wagons. Losses will amount to six parts in ten.

Let's discuss:

:  When a nation's resources are depleted by its troops, that is because of long supply lines. When there are long supply lines, the ordinary people become impoverished.
:   When troops are stationed nearby, then commodity prices rise.
When commodity prices rise, the ordinary people are driven out of the market.
When the resources of the ordinary people are exhausted [by paying the high prices, taxes, etc.], that will create a furor over impositions.
:   When one's energies are tied up and one's wealth is exhausted within one's nuclear region, then the center of one's own domain becomes a void.
The common people will come up short on seven parts out of ten of their ordinary living expenses.
:   As for the expenses of the establishment families, there are wrecked vehicles, infirm horses, [damaged or destroyed] armor, helmets, arrows, crossbows, lances, bucklers, and paveses, not to mention oxen and heavy freight wagons. Losses will amount to six parts out of ten.

The ang-mo translation is really weak. The more I studied the text, the more mistakes I found. I am not saying my interpretation is any better. But, at least, I hope to be more accurate. I have no choice but to look for more accurate ones. Moran's interpretation is thus much better.

From the above text, once the supply lines are stretched to battles that are far away. Once engaged, their losses even without true losses in battles are as huge as 60%-70%.

It is so amazing that Sun Tzu at this point still doesn't understand that war is never profitable. Any losses or delays will rob the state of 60%-70% of entire resources.

This passage tells us of the cost of invasion. So be careful if you must invade.

p.Story - A Stupid Gal

The last part is here:   Story - A Banker and a Fisherman

Looks like every one loves to tell stories. I also wan.

Once upon a time, there lived a gal in suburb of a large city. She was not very educated. She was lazy and used her little beauty to get by. Gradually she was attracted by the golden songs of another large city, like every one else, she went to work in that big city. Her life was tough. She lived in a single room and paid exorbital rent. Her pay was meager and after a few years, she applied for permanent resident and got it too. But, her pay remained very weak.

Her landlady even suspected she was from the kampong and laughed non-stopped at her, without realizing that she had 4 cars at the driveway in a large landed property.

Every dollar she made she spent it away in clothes and food, leaving very little savings for herself. After a few more years, she talked to her elder sister about her future.

Her sister instead of suggesting a way out for her, chided her for being stupid and not hard-working. See ... She went on to an overseas varsity and got qualified as a professional, now she can make multiple thousands at any one time. She therefore asked her sister to be like her to study even more.

She followed her elder sister's advice and went to a tertiary institution for a part-time course. She was very hard-working. After work, she would rush to school for her classes. Interestingly, every time she stared at the books, she would dose off within seconds. After a few months, as expected, she quit the school. Her elder sister laughed at her to no ends.

She was clueless. Even with close siblings, she was burnt upside-down. There was no help. Even her father refused to send her overseas like her elder sister.

Life unfortunately ended quite abruptly for her. No dream. No asset. No money. No harbour.

She then knew this guy who is good in wine-making. She asked humbly for him to teach her business. The guy was a bastard. No good words could come from him. But, he did impart superficially the art of wine-making. She was stupid enough to listen to his half-baked advice. When she has questions in wine-making, instead of telling her, he asked her to consult the internet instead. he's a fucker in every aspect. He was no 伯乐 to her. Her knowledge was not gained from him, but from every key stroke she impressed on the internet.

After a good one year, she announced that her wine is ready for tasting. Her elder sister instead of helping her to spread the good word. The elder sister debarred all her friends from contacting her younger sister.

But, good things cannot be suppressed for long. Soon many of her friends came to know about it and started to buy from her. The authority also got the wind of it and the authority too felt good about the event and have decided to process the wine-making license for her.

As expected, she has grown from someone whom many people would have brushed aside to someone who can stand on her own two little feet and be counted equal among the giants before her.

As said many times before, there are no weak genes amongst us. The only difference if we are either 帅才 or 将才。

Due to her limited education, she would not be a 帅才 for the time being. But, no one knows, given time, she might tear away and be a true 帅才。 Never underestimate what one can do. Mdm Lu was only a samsui woman, but, she displayed judgement of deadly love offering at age 95. We often heard stories too that a mother can lift a car to rescue her child. Such strength of love can only be given to very determined person.

Her weapon-of-choice:   Downward doe eyes, with pity-me-not face.
If you classify her as stupid, then I am sure you are already had.

I wish her every success ...

I just pray that the world is fairer and nicer to those who are weaker by virtue of lack of resource allocation. They are never stupid, they are just robbed of what was rightfully theirs.

p.Show - 蝶影紅梨記

The last part is here:   Show - 射雕英雄传 1983 (part II)

The show is here:   蝶影紅梨記 (全劇) - 任劍輝 白雪仙
The more I dwell into Chinese opera, the more I like it. The love stories were so pure and simple. No tricks. No scams. Love can be so rich, so clean and unblemished. The bads are always punished in the end, while the goods prevailed. But, I don't see them happening in real life. I do want to believe in karma, but, karma is taking too long a time. At the same time, so many weak ones have fallen. My tengri, how many more must fall before I see justice done?

The next time if I do have time, I will join the opera singing classes.

There were times that I wish I had never taken that money. The burden is now so heavy. With so much blessings and hopes rest on that every dollar, how can I rest now and ever with no regrets?

Please enjoy the show ...

p.Porcupines

I will be going too to East Malaysia to buy my pet twin porcupines. May this pair of porcupines bless my friend who had been so nice to me. I will look at the land in East Malaysia. So sexy ...
LOL ... I just found a very nice cypress tree for my blood relation. He would be most happy. The young tree will be planted this coming spring. May this tree bless our family.

Today is a good day. The grand chieftain did not meet me as scheduled but sent his deputy to see me. The deputy announced that I am promoted to be the third junior member in the ring of power immediately. My job entails serving exclusively the needs of the royal family. Sigh ... it was my old job some fucking decades ago. These people simply don't believe I do have other real skills, apart from cock-sucking.

Ohhh ... Well ... Life is ironic that after so many years, I am still just a cock-sucker at my personal best.

Next week, I will be meeting the grand mayor chieftain. With my new rank, I hope he is happy to let me have my land for free. My main eye is still on the free hot spring. Let's hope he has weakness that I could use.

If I ever have command over this spring, I will use this spring for the benefit of those who have helped me in the past. Mdm Lu, please bless me too. With this spring, there would be millions who will be saved. This spring will give life to those who needs to live, give health to those who are ill, give peace to those who have been troubled.

My mind is now at peace. There are still 3 more fasting days in the temple. May my body be cleansed of evil thoughts before I meet my grand sire.
